What
Can I Celebrate?
Life Celebrations can occur at all stages of life.
In Western society we readily recognise births, deaths and marriages
and frequently mark these events with a ceremony of some kind.
But the possibilities are far wider than this. In the act of living
we experience many changes and events, any of which we may feel
we would like to mark in some way. This can be done publicly,
supported by our friends and wider family, or privately, alone
or with a chosen few. Life celebrations can honour commitment,
transitions of many kinds, thanks, healing, new beginnings as
well as personal or organisational milestones.
Here are some ideas, but even this list does not
exhaust the possibilities:
- Births, Blessings, Name
giving, Thanksgiving
- Starting School - the transition for child
and/or primary nurturer
- Turning 7 and each of the 7-year cycles thereafter
- Commencing Adolescence

- Entering Adulthood
- Coming of Age at 21
- Weddings and Commitments
- Vow Renewal and Anniversaries
- Separation or Divorce
- Career transitions
- Retirement
- Croning
- Eldership
- Menopause
- Reunions
- Honouring Friendships
- Significant Birthdays
- Healing and Recovery from Illness
- Letting Go
- Transitions
- Relocating

- House blessings
- Ceremonies for Pets - giving away young, change
of owners, pet funeral
- Funerals and Scattering Ashes
- Memorials
- Organisational events: celebration of milestones,
awards, farewells, launching, new premises
So if you are aware of a milestone that you would
like to mark, contact us. We can explore some possibilities and
assist you to take the next steps towards creating your life celebration.
